I have a little Weird Al in me too. Does anyone else ever do this? There are times when I’m feeling a little creative, but not in a serious way, and I just can’t get myself to delve into an entire story to flesh out every plot point of a screenplay.

Here’s a parody of Katy Perry’s song Roar I started one night but never finished. Feel free to take it over and give it a good chorus and second verse. Extra points if you actually record it.

Here’s what I have so far.

I used to fill my lungs with crystal meth
wore a white frock coat and nothing else
it gets so chi-il-lly, with an exposed wi-il-lly
I guess I forgot that people sneak a peek
Can’t let a tweeker take a leak in peace
So I stood there pee-ee-ing, and it felt so free-ee-ing

The cops came down, and covered me up
All they needed was a Dixie cup
They saw me kick, then heard me scream
the taser hit me like a laser beam
They held me down, but I got away
outrunning them was child’s play

For comparison purposes, here’s the matching parts of the original.

I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

You held me down, but I got up (hey!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ’cause I had enough
