DMOZToday I added my website to the open directory project. If you’re unfamiliar with this site, it’s the largest human edited directory on the web. What that means is you’re not going to spam this site with affiliate links or submit multiple copies into different categories. An editor will evaluate and categorize each and every worthy link submitted to the directory. This helps to keep the directory standards high and ensures you always find sites relevant to your search.

I’ve known about the Open Directory Project for as long as I can remember and it’s usually one of the first places I go to add a site. I don’t think I get much traffic to my other sites from the ODP, but it still feels like a must to be included in this directory. The website still looks like a throw back to the mid 90’s and it reminds me of an early version of Yahoo. Admission to this site may not bring a large wave of new traffic to your site, but it’s one more small piece in the bigger picture of growing your website to profitability.
